Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor and Psychotherapist
It can sometimes be hard to pinpoint exactly what's making us unhappy. Or, we may know exactly what the thing is that needs to change. But it can be hard to see which path we need to take to make ourselves feel better.
This is where counselling comes in. Together, we can explore the things that are upsetting us, those niggling feelings, that difficult relationship. At the heart of counselling is the relationship between us - I create a warm environment where it feels safe to start exploring and understanding what changes you want to make in your life, if any at all.
We would spend time looking at what’s going on for you now, and sometimes looking at past experiences as a way to understand a bit more about the present. I may sometimes ask hard questions, but I would never make you talk about something you don’t want to or don’t feel ready to.
Although not limited to, I have particular experience working with relationship issues, sexuality and gender, anxiety and depression, & new and expectant parents. I also have further training in Solution Focussed Brief Therapy, which works particularly well when there is a specific goal you want to achieve.
My Background
I am a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP 00924606). I work in private practice and as a counsellor in a London university. My background is in music - I worked in the music industry for 10 years before retraining as a counsellor, I therefore have specialist experience working with performers and music professionals.
