Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor
About me & my approach
I'm a qualified counsellor specialising in anxiety and stress, depression, low self-esteem and relationship issues and work with individual adults (18+) on a short/fixed-term or open-ended basis either face-to-face or online. My way of working is integrative which enables me to draw on established, evidence-based psychotherapeutic theories (predominantly person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT) to tailor my approach to reflect a client’s unique concerns and individuality. I provide a confidential, genuine, empathic and non-judgemental space to help foster a trusting therapeutic relationship with clients. Through this you are supported to process your thoughts and feelings, grow awareness of what is and isn’t working for you, and find helpful ways forwards.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a qualified and experienced counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB) alongside a BA Hons in Counselling. As part of my commitment to ethical practice and professional development, I regularly attend a variety of CPD and training sessions.
I have experience of working in the NHS, low-cost therapy services, schools, bereavement services and private practice with a range of mental health issues including (but not limited to): Depression, anxiety, stress, work-related issues, self-esteem and identity issues, grief and bereavement, planned/unplanned childlessness, relationship/friendship/family issues, ageing, illness, loneliness.
I also have many years of experience working in the corporate environment and am attuned to the pressures work can place on people and the effects it has on their personal lives.
